i believe they are the same guitar just with different pickups,

couldnt he just get a black jag? theres no need to paint an AVRI when they already come in black. and then just a change of pickgaurd and some hot rails

its up to you, a 62 reissue is going to cost you. a more financially sound way to go would be find a black Crafted in japan on ebay, or maybe but one of the new classic players and paint it

I ususally play American standart models

and don't know how expensive is an AVRI

I'm not so interested in the idea of repainting a CIJ

Maybe I'm going to try first a classic player (is this the American standart Jag ?)

make my opinion, and then compare with an AVRI, in case of real difference in quality

I' ll delay till I'm rich enough... 😛

This one is a Jaguar Special HH (it has 2 humbuckers and chrome knobs)

I don't know the exact price, (since i'am in Holland) but at Guitar Center and Musician's Friend they are: $889.99

AVRI's are much more expensive.
