I'm really excited because tomorrow I pay off the remaining balance on my new guitar, Alice. She's a Squier Bullet Strat, I was drawn by the color (somewhere between arctic white and olympic white w/ a white pg) and once I played her I loved the pups and the action (Squier Bullets have amazingly good pups). I'm gonna be doing some mods:
1. ditch the 5 way selector for 3 individual on/off/phase switches
2. get rid of the tone controls and have a volume for each pup
3. shielding (the pups sound great but are a little noisy, especially for someone who uses almost exclusively high gain pedals)
4. I'm gonna put in all the the trem springs so she's pretty much a hardtail
5. Locking Tuners (Possibly)
6. Graphtech Supercharger kit (Possibly)
But I have a question about shielding. would shielding the pg and the cavity be good enough. cuz I looked on Stewmac and for complete shielding you're s'posed to take the pups apart and shield all the wires and stuff individually (which sounds easy to botch up if you write something down wrong or something)? also is there any difference between shielding paint and foil aside from the fact that paint is easier to apply? Also, if i didn't use the trem would it be necesarry to shield the trem cavity?
