From my convertible collection:
1967 Fireglo 366/12 WBBS. Double bound beauty in superb condition and all original.
1966 Azureglo 366/12. An Azureglo that had some minor issues. It was refinished in the exact same color by Paul W. a few years back and it is in drop dead mint condition. Looks like a new guitar with the shiniest set of vintage hardware you have ever seen. It is all-original.
1966 Fireglo 366/12. This is an all original, untouched 366 that was owned by David Bowie and used during the Station to Station tour. The case still has the tags from the locker on it and it comes with a letter of provenance from the owner of a famous recording studio stating how it was obtained by him.
1968 Fireglo 456/12. One of the hardest to obtain convertible models. Essentially it is a minty fresh 450 but with all the convertible hardware. It has the best action and feel of any 450 cresting wave style guitar that I have owned. Drop dead mint.
Others:
1961 425 Fireglo. This one has the super thick Capri body and a gold metal pickguard and bridge cover and a stamped tin TRC. It is in absolutely stunning condition and has a neck like a dream. Comes with original red lined faux elephant skin case from Rickenbacker.
1965 360 Burgundyglo. This one was refinished by Chip Little and is a beautiful shade of vintage Burgundy with nice woodgrain peeking through at every turn. It has the accent tremolo and all original sparkling harware. A real looker!
Projects:
I have several things with Chip and Dale (yes, I get the irony) that are in for refinishing. I would be willing to release these projects to the new owner for the right price and let them be taken over to be made into whatever the new owner should desire:
1966 330/12 with all original wiring and hardware - I have TWO of these with Dale at the moment. One of them is stripped and awaiting an Azureglo finish, the other is still in its original Jetglo finish. These could be left alone, turned into a different color, bound to make a 360 OS, turned into a Lightshow...WHATEVER, and all with the vintage hardware/jackplate to lend them mojo and keep them in touch with their history. These are both beauties. One of them had a small top crack which Dale has already repaired but they are otherwise perfect, with nice dot necks, almost no fretwear and very clean fretboards without any rutting or neck dive/bowing.
1966 4001 deluxe bass - This one came to me in pretty poor condition and Dale and his son are bringing it back to life. The good news is that I have the original and very clean 1966 hardware except the tailpiece and tuners. It will be a beautiful and valuable instrument when it is done.
1965 4000 bass - all original. It is with Chip now for a basic clean-up, re-chroming some of the hardware (pot metal/flaking) and getting her ready in general for me.
1959 Capri Deluxe - This one is a monster. Double bound Capri Deluxe. Rare as sin. All original hardware (except two of the pots on the harness which are 60's pots, not sure why since the rest of the harness is original). It came to me with a routing at the neck for a big ole' humbucker. Chip has it now and he has blocked and cleaned the routing, stripped the guitar and is now ready to give her a new coat. I was thinking maybe Autumnglo or Jetglo with the original Gold Guards and TRC"
