just a quick question can a dimarzio fast track 2 be installed into the bridge of a mustang even though its for a strat type guitar? i can post pic of my mustang if you wanna see it.

"rock music" is a bit vague these days. i have a full sized JB in my mustang but it required routing and if i had the choice in front of me to take it back or do it again i would take it back. it's not worth the body work on the guitar, although yes it sounds nice. but a jb jr would be a substantially less invasive alternative. a hotrail would sound good with distortion but it has been said they have a less than pleasing clean tone so its all up to you on what you think best suits you.

i might get a a hot rail. lol i took the control plate off and realized i was missing the tone pot. its gone. i wondered why it kept spinning. 😠

ive been browsing this sight long before i became a user here.

does the site small clone still exist? are they under a different url?

i bought the hotrail and it should be installed and ready for me to pickup from my guitar store.

idk. the kid i bought it from knew nothing about guitars. the tone knob just kept spinning and i noticed the mustang sounded a little odd. i took the control plate and was uber pissed. thats why people should always play it before you buy it, and not take some wankers word thats its in 100% condition as he put it.

Well a simple $5 job to fix. Just get a pot, knob and possibly cap and tell him it wan't working.

Oh awesome, you're in Edinburgh. Check out a Maplins store if you can find one, they usually have loads of pots and things in there. It'll be a simple fix.

But they don't have the splined pot shaft so you'll have to use the cheapo knobs they sell there

i just pulled one out of an old strat i dont play. its 250k and sounds better than expected for 250k.

also bought an orange drop and put that in after hearing how good its supposed to be.

its just ok imo cant hear much of a diff.

yeah i moved to Scotland when i was 2 i think. i consider myself Scottish not latvian

Yeah, I put an Orange Drop in my Mustang and couldn't notice any difference. Left it there cause I was too lazy to take it out again 😉
