Kurt actually had some talks with various famous people outside his own genre in the past, the only musicians I ever read about him having problems with were Axl Rose (whom I don't give a crap about anyway), and Edward Van-Halen for calling Pat Smear "the Mexican Guy" when he (EVH) wanted to jam with Nirvana at a show and wanted to borrow Pat's guitar, and in Ed's defense. I believe all that is the true reason for this whole "The 80's are gay, metal #### sucks, EVH and Axl Rose like to blow each other" attitude put across by some of the 90's alt-rock guitarists. Kurt had a LOT of weight to throw around due to his fame, and I think that is a lot of the reason he was uneasy with being famous, I get the impression from having read about him, Kurt was the kind of guy who did things spur of the moment out of emotion without thinking about them enough (but then don't we all sometimes). Probably also contributed much to his demise methinks.
