Jazzmaster pickups in a Jagmaster

Hello all!

I don't speak english very well sorry for that . 😀

I have a Squier jagmaster and i want to change the pickups.

I love the sound of the jazzmaster pickup, but the size of the jazzmaster pickup is largest ,

do you recommend cut the pickguard? this could ruin my jagmaster?

I have also seen that the jazzmaster pickup has two wires and the humbucker of the squier jagmaster only one wire, that means that i can't install the jazzmaster pickups? ☹

I saw one of those, You must be able to do it

and as for the jagmaster having one wire, there must be one hidden in there for the ground although I have seen ungrounded pickups

Probably next to the other wire but so close you can't see it 😉

cutting the pickguard will not ruin your jagmaster but might decrease the selling price so you will not get as much money if you sell it

you will be able to put the pickups in using a different wiring diagram to the usual jagmaster

Also, you could get another picguard and then you keep the original how it should be

Ok that's the point, is gonna be very hard do this? A luthier could do this easier? i hope that he won't say that he can't put the pickups

a luthier will definately be able to do this

you almost certainly will be able to do the wiring if you know how to use a soldering iron

Also, the Jagmaster swimming pool route is large, but Jazzmaster pups are larger, so some routing would be required.

As for the ground wire, it is attached to a bolt in the vibrato cavity.

But yeah, go for it, I would have loved to put Jazzmaster pups in mine. Closest I came was thinking of putting a couple of SD Phat Cats. Never did it, though.

What about ANGLED Jazzmaster pickups? You know, like a Mustang... Would that fit?

That's something else I almost did. I was gonna put in some Mustang pups using conversion rings to hold them in place. One reason I changed my mind was because none of the rings I found would have looked good with the red tort pickguard.

My Jagmaster is a very vain creature 😉

Maybe I am misunderstanding now, but I meant the vibrato cavity on the rear of the guitar, where the springs are. Only one wire in there. If I had my Jagmaster here I would post a photo for you, but it's still in the process of being modded up.

i think i am going to do the same thing, keep me informed to what happens.

i did some mock ups and it looks great.

i like the black the best.

Ok, but where I connect the TWO ground wires of the jazzmaster pickups? 😕

thats what i thought, i think i am going to HAVE to do it now. is urs burst or black?
