correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think separate grounds would do anything to keep the controls from interfering, wouldn't you need a buffer? Marshall did it by having different gain stages for different inputs, with the bright inputs having treble bypasses. what type of preamp? separate tubes for separate stages, inserting tubes into the existing clean circuit for more gain, etc?
