Thats why i hate them. less control over things, i think anyway. Generic indeed. It's a space saver, by thats about it for me. and for gigging, unless you know the unit front and back, you may get lost and hit the wrong schit. Happened to me all the time when i trying jamming with people, i just got really annoying. They're good for beginers, i think, because it gives you so many options and its a great way to get used to different effects. But as far as serious work, i pass on them...
