ModNuB I've got a sd hotrails wired to a 1M volume pot in my duo. I love the volume but the treble is killing me!!! Is there a way to cut the highs without changing pots/adding a tone? I'd just put a tone knob in her but I have no real need to adjust it, I just want to lower it by about halfish all the time.
Blandest add a cap before the output jack 😉as far as value, the choice is yr's, endless possiblities
ModNuB Thanks! That was my 1st thought but wasn't sure. Any thoughts on value for about a 1/4-1-2 cut? I don't want no treble just less.
tragictravisty you're going to want to wire it straight from the hotrails to ground, not at the jack. and filters have cutoff points, above which every octave is cut or boosted by 6db (at 1st octave, -6db, 2nd -12, and so on). is this the bridge or neck hotrails?

tragictravisty theres no such thing as a 1/4 or 1/2 cut in treble, since youre cutting different frequencies by different amounts. and no, thats not how you would wire the cap. you would connect one lead to ground anywhere in the chain, and the other to the wire off the pickup NOT wired to ground. usually, the backs of pots are grounds.
