My friends, I got scammed. 😠 Extremely pissed I am ,yes.

luckily I was able to put a stop on the funds transfer once I figured out what happened, so no damage done.

BEWARE of false second chance offers that appear as e-mails from ebay.

I looked at my ebay account, and it showed that that particular item had no second chance offers on it. I freaked, and pulled the plug. The fake emails I recieved contained VERY detailed and believable information.

I emailed a copy of them to ebay's Safe Harbor Team, and they confirmed that they were in fact fakes.

I was so distraught from this whole mess that I decided to go ahead and buy a brand new, in the box Olympic White American Stratocaster Hardtail. 😆 It should be arriving from Musician's Friend any day.

I'll post pics when I get it.

I got it Friday afternoon, it's sweet.

Nice to have a guitar that you don't have to screw with so much (staying in tune, action, ect. ect.) like my Mustang.

At first I didn't like the bridge single coil, but I'm warming up to it. I've only had Humbuckered bridge pickups in my guitars, so I guess I'm just used to that.

The craftsmanship on this guitar is second to none. It feels incredible. All I had to do was tune it up and go!

I'll post pics later.

The Olympic White is not as white as I thought it would be. it's more a cream color. The satin finish neck is cool, and I like the larger scale, and larger frets. I think I might pit a JB Jr in it though.

everything in what i quoted above is how i felt when i got my strat. on the subject of the pickup however, i always felt it was just because mine was a notoriously 'bright' '57 re-issue.

i suggest backing off volume 2 or 3 knotches when using the bridge pickup, i've never had it sound good on the bridge pickup with the volume all the way up, it just hurts. if fender hadn't forgotten to take his pills that morning he'd have wired a tone pot to the BRIGHTEST pickup but oh well.

Hey, when I got my Gear4Music strat the pickups wheren't even wired in the right order, the mid and bridge where the wrong way round! You think yours has problems? Obviously I've completely re-done the wiring now and it's fine. I love the sound of the mid and bridge together but I'm not such a fan of the bridge on it's own. Mid and bridge is by a huuuuuuge ammount the nicest sound on the guitar (which does have fender pickups by the way).

Does your Strat not have tone control for the bridge pup?

Mine has the new "Delta Tone" system which is slightly different from the old tone control setup I guess.

the neck/middle, middle, middle/bridge, and bridge tones are all controlled by the second tone knob. the neck pup's tone is controlled soley by the first tone knob.

Also, the bridge pup has the "Delta Tone" which is where the tone knob is turned to 10, and you can feel a little indent when you try to turn it back the other way. That indent is supposed to be where the pup's full tone with no filter can be heard. I don't know, it just sounds shrill to me without adjusting the tone down.

I looked at those, but I didn't want a tremelo. Mine is an American made hardtail. I believe you can only get a hardtail if it's American made, not sure though 🙄

Stick a "neck on" switch in so you can have a neck-bridge setting and prepare to retract that statement!

Will do when I get back to Wales, I have a few spair switces lying around, I may actually have a spair one here in liverpool but the soldering Iron I have with me is nackered. I'm still tempted to put a coil tap on my Tele too.

the bridge pup on my strat(mim standerd but its nice) is super thin, i like the sound of the neck more, but at times it doesnt seem bright enough to me. dont tell me to turn the treble up on ym amp either i have that maxed out! but yeah strats are great, i didnt like them when i started playing(which im useing the same strat i bought as my first guitar, its seen some rough times) but its great, i just dont like strat bridges/tremelos. just ugly, and the amount of wasted space left on the butt of the guitar isnt cool...

i don't see what's wrong with the bridge, it's the most ingenious guitar bridge ever designed. it's a bridge AND a tailpiece AND a vibrato unit. having been born with the strat existing makes it easy to forget that no one else really does that. well, they do NOW but it's either a strat bridge, a floyd rose (locking strat bridge) or a kahler (re-thought floyd rose).

The strat in general is a pretty amazing and timeless design. The whole thing was built for comfort and was suposed to be a more playable guitar than anything previous to it yet also adding more features like the middle pickup and the trem for increased versitility. It's damn genious! It's just sad that it has become a bit of a cliche now.
