As I said, the $400 mustang was the cheap export model with basswood unlike the In-japan models, and I personally don't like basswood that much. Japanese Fender in-japan guitars are sometimes better than the american-made, but export models are crappy, except for the official Japanese-American reissues. The one that I found was USA made with no dent or whatsoever, only tiny scratches, and comes with the original hard case for $1100. if you look elsewhere for that kind of Comp.blue mustang, it's usually over $1600.
