Maestro MFZ-1 - Clone, Reissue, Something?

I got a chance to play one of these the other night at a friends house and loved it. Went out looking to buy one - or a reissue, and no dice. No reissue, and the originals are like $250 on ebay. I found a group of threads over on FreeStompBoxes about a guy building a clone, but all the pics/schematics seem to be gone.

Does anyone have a lead on how to build one of these (plans, kits?) or if there is a pedal out that is similar to this guy?

That wouldn't be like a Kay Fuzz-Tone, would it?

I don't think so - the Kay is like an octave fuzz, right?

This thing (MFZ) is just a good ol' fashioned fuzzbox.

I've found some info on a pedal called a "hidrosis" that apparently is pretty similar, but details on it are sort of sketchy.

I may start a new thread, but this hunt has put me on the DIY/build your own pedal track.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a GGG Big Muff clone or something, just to get the hang of it, and then I may see if I can stripboard one of these.
