Jagstang or mustang

Hey guys, just wanted your opinion. I have never played either a Mustang or a Jag-stang and want some input as to which one i should opt for,

either a 65 reissue mustang

a "U0" serial jag-stang

im torn between the two, and a lot of it is put down to the level of modifying you guys reckon needs to be put into a stock jag-stang which i have neither the money or the knowledge to do at the moment.

At the end of it i'm really looking for the sound quality, which one has is better, any info would be great guys cheers

Just so you know, you can get guitarfetish pickups for like $20 each.

I'd recomend the mustang if you wanna keep stock, and if you do go for the jag and need modding help, we're right behind you 😉

Cheers for reply, the reason why i'm unsure about the jag is the complete lack of knowledge regarding guitar tech, im afraid ill spend however much on it then screw it up, but ill look around the site and see what i think , cheers

another thing i'd like to know is if the jagstang noticeably bad at stock level? or is it something that only guitar masters will notice and upgrade accordingly.

i find it hard to believe its really that bad

I'm sure you'll have heard some of the people on youtube playing them stock.

Pickups, caps and pots etc make a HUGE difference

I know there are many other videos of stock JS's but I couldn't remember which one's they were and I don't have time to try and find one. BTW I'm not trying to play anything I's just screwin around.

Ya I would but I got no money to pay for shipping, tariffs, and stuff (remember I'm in California). Plus I'm saving up for the Vox Night Train.

I'm wondering how much a Vox raises the price over on this end of the world b/c of those tarriffs and sh*t. Maybe you can trade your hair for a cheaper Night Train....

Maybe thinking the folks in the Jag-Stang section will offer different thoughts to the people in the Mustang section.

When I first started here I only posted in "mustang" cause I didn't know how this place worked. Then I found the "active thread" link so now after I log in I just click that & it makes it way easier to keep up. I don't post much cause I try to only add to the discussion & not just make noise.
