I did have a chance to review Fran's guide, and I agree that it is very useful and informative; however, I don't really have the necessary tools to alleviate my bridge woes...
My situation is a little convoluted, I know...but, I'm in the Philippines for another few months (still on business). I went to Japan to pick up my Jaguar (which I adore) but I have been having some problems with the bridge. Unfortunately, where I am now, I don't have access to a good luthier, and I don't have any of the requisite tools to fix the issue myself.
I also have one hard down-stroke! I know that the Jaguar bridge is perfectly workable; I'm just afraid that I'm not able to get mine up to par given my current situation. I could however, very easily, pop in an alternate bridge on my own.
In fact, I think I'd like a new bridge regardless. Again, I do understand that the original bridge can work, but I'd just prefer something that requires a little less 'maintenance' and upkeep. I suppose you could call me lazy, but to me, it is worth it to spend the money on a replacement bridge rather then spending all sorts of time to get my Jaguar bridge to function correctly...and to stay in perfect working order (cost-benefit analysis I suppose).
Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks everyone; take care!
