The SEs are cheaper than Epiphones, and better.
As for the higher end stuff its all the exotic woods and stuff, just like Gibson Custom Shop or whatever.
I think Fender have been cheap by comparison to a lot of brands for so many years, but when you look at the colour options and construction so they should be. Still, at the end of the day its wood and wires. No guitar is worth $5,000, i dont care what anyone says.
