Possible to swap Dragster-J pickups for Humbuckers?

Yeah, I'm just wondering if this is possible to do easily? Specifically a JB or a dimarzio sd

like mcconnachiea said, they'll fit just fine. Make sure you get F-spaced (dimarzio) or trembucker (SD) though, otherwise, I'f i'm correct, you'll be getting them for the gibson, which has a wider bridge so wider string spacing near the bridge. This'll mean those pole thingies don't line up

While this^ is true for almost all Fenders I don't think that's the case w/ the jag HH cause its got the TOM like a Gibson. You may want to check it out first by measuring...or ask Trav he has one & may know.

F-spaced or regular, wouldn't the volume difference be almost un-noticeable if the "wrong" one was installed?

Its not so much volume as clearity that is lost if the wrong one is used. Its not the end of the world tho so whatever you choose to do its not a big deal.

Cartman rocks, you don't know what you're talking about.

The main problem with jag HH pickups is that they're not wax potted so you get squeal from the pickup covers. They ARE regular gibson spaced pickups so you'll need to get that.

Do you want to keep the original pickup covers? The chrome ones?

mcconachiea, why don't you email fender and tell them that their dragsters are in fact gibson spaced, and that they were wrong the whole time.

anyway, are you sure? The HH doesn't have a TOM, it has an adjusto-matic, so I assumed that since it's fender's counterpart, it actually has fender's bridge width...

Pole spacing makes little or no difference. Ajust-o-matic is just the new tom (since 1983)

The only 'problem' that dragsters have is that they are not wax potted to the metal covers buzz really badly. I'm sure dragsters are great pickups, but they just aren't set up. Its like buying a car with wheels but no tyres. You get someone to fit the tyres

...no. its the fender rip off, and as such, its f-spaced. i emailed fender.
