Funny, according to all the info I have read, Comps weren't issued until 1969.

(all because the neck and pots say 1968, does not mean its a 68)

That is true, they were back ordered, so they did use left over necks. If the neck and the pots don't decide what year it is, what does?

When it was built is usually the indicator. I saw a number of '68 Comps on ebay, reasonably priced. They never sold.

My best guess as to why: No one would you buy an guitar from someone who couldn't even get the year right. If the year is wrong, then what else is?

Lesson: Do your research, get your info right. Otherwise, it could cost you.

You could get some parts made in 1968 and put it together in 1969.
