may seem a noob question, but i was thinking of making a pedalboard too, and then i thought...

why dont i buy a secondhand suitcase thats big enough to hold about six pedals and a power supply? is this a good idea (i'd have to get a pretty hard suitcase too but its gotta be cheaper than a case made for pedals right)?

A helluva lot cheaper. Too much money for a moulded piece of plastic.

my thoughts exactly. no way am i going to pay that much for something like that that i could just make/use something else for

I've made them out of all sorts of stuff in the past. Plastic cases, MDF, all with bits of packaging materials stuck here an there. Its finding the time and space to do it though, and currently i can't even get into my shed let alone start a project in there so my board is on hold for the time being.

twas not abandoned, just kept forgetting about finishing it, the pedalboard looks like this atm

it will be attatched to this part of the case and the lid is under construction, should be finished later today or tomorrow 😁

are those pedals from build your own clone? i was thinking of getting their muff copy... but i'm terrible at soldering 😢

the blue is their octave fuzz and the red is their phaser, both amazing sounding pedals but i rushed them and so mine arent very reliable, as long as you take your time anyone can build these pedals 😉

thanks, i probably will try if you say theyre not too hard (ill try to get one as soon as i get a job 😁 ) ill probably get their confidence booster thingy too just so i can be sure i know what i'm doing... is the fuzz hendrixy? is it octave up or down?

its octave up but its quite subtle, i can definately get some hendrix tones out of it but i usually just use it as a straight fuzz, on full blast 😁

If you're crap at soldering, get DIY kit from maplin/radioshack to get used to PCB soldering 😉

whats the maplin thing? cos i was going to get the company's confidence booster thingy which is basically just a "teach yrself soldering" kit... but if the maplin thing's cheaper i may as well get that instead...

Soldering is piss easy once you get the hang of it. Practice makes perfect. I blame the blandness of LEGO nowadays.

Well, this was my pedal board 2 years ago. Fashioned from an old cabinet door which my wife painted black. Talk about lack of imagination.

The only good thing is it can fit inside a laptop bag. Now I use Gator board that comes with a softcase.
