I've got a chance to pick up a 1994 Blonde Jazzmaster with gold hardware and I'm confused about what I've read online. The seller states it was made in Japan and this seems to the the common belief(likely fact). The fender website just indicates that it was part of the set issued that year but doesn't indicate where it was made.
However on this site: http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx when I put in the serial number it states:
Guitar Info
This guitar is a Blonde Jazzmaster or a Jaguar with Gold hardware
made at the Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 1994
I have to assume the website is incorrect but could it be possible that it could in fact be made in the US? The asking price is $750 and when I just checked the serial number on the website above I was all over it. Now that it appears it's made in Japan I not as interested.
Anyone have any detailed info on the origin of this model?
