Yeah I had a Tim and the Dano and ended up selling the Tim. The Tim does a much better job at the "transparent" thing. The Dano still has a slight Mid-hump, not as much as a tubescreamer, but it's still there. Plus the Dano had a lot more output and pushed the front of my amp a lot harder. That's probably the extra "aggression" you're hearing.
If you were using an amp that broke up a lot and pushed out a lot of midrange in the vain of a marshall, diesel, or bogner, then the Tim/Timmy would suit you much better as it does not color the tone of your amp at all. However, if you're using a very clean fender like amp a pedal with a slight mid-hump is actually a good thing since those blackface amps have dipped mids. Especially if you're getting all your dirt from pedals and none from the amp.
