1987 B.C. Rich Ironbird Bass - got this for $250 at Bubba Lewis Music in Valley AL in 1997. My first bass and only for many years. The original pickup has been modified with a set of aluminum oxide cap screws from a Duncan Designed Invader copy humbucker, held in with 3M tape. This thing has a lovely harmonic resonance my other basses don't have.
1980's/1990's Segovia Bass - I bought this at Pawn X-Change for $80 out the door in mid 2006. It was completley thrashed and punked out with a warped neck (somewhat fixed by leaving it unstrung for a week), seized bridge saddles (still not fixed), broken pot shafts, missing knobs, busted pickup selector, a broken magnet on the neck pickup, and all sorts of lovely R and X rated stickers on it, I really wish I had taken a photo. It cleaned up very nicely as you can see. This bass was my favorite for awhile due to the huge variety of sounds it can make, though I did sell it to a friend for $50 for awhile to learn on, he gave it back in exchange for a refund, and I gained a nice Levis guitar strap out of the deal too. There's a part of me that just wants to get a Jaguar bass and install the pickups from this into it in the same locations because the pickups on this sound incredible for something so cheaply made.
2007 Epiphone EB-0 Bass - Bone stock. Bought this at Guitar Center on a whim because I felt like getting a new bass, and wanted to see if it was a suitable lefty conversion for a lady I was around at the time. I like it, but these basses do have some mild tuning issues, not sure if it's the neck or the tuners yet but it seems to be rather difficult to tune. I only really use it for ballads, and emulating an upright double bass electrically, as it has a VERY deep sound and sometimes can dissappear in the mix yet be felt if you run it through a really good bass speaker system.
2008 Fender Mustang Bass - Bone Stock, spent half a year paying this thing off with 12mos no interest from GC because I fell in love with the feel, look, and sound of this bass instantly. It's grown to be my new #1 bass for that reason, it's just more comfortable for the things I prefer to do on my demos and sounds a little more 3D and Deeper than the long scales, yet retains the clarity of my Segovia and B.C. Rich due to the lower output pickups placed in the dead center of the instrument. Just stocked up on a pile of Fender shortscale bass strings for this thing for dirt cheap as well.
