Sell my strat to buy a Rickenbacker?

I'm thinking about it.I can't afford it without selling one of my guitars

The one I want to get is a a 330 like this(without the sticker).I saw the Jam around the time this video was made(1978)and have wanted a Mapleglo 330 ever since. Actually,this is the only video I have seen of Paul Weller playing that guitar.I think he gave it to Noel Gallager.

GET THE RICKY! It's my dream to someday own a 360/12. I wouldn't trust myself with one now, they're too beautiful and I'm too clumsy. Unless you'll miss the middle and quack positions of the strat you should go for it!

Thanks for the post.The reason I am thinking about it is I can get a sweet deal on a Rick 330 now: $999 for a new one.The regular price on them is $1799.

It's a 2008 American Standard. It's like new except the pickguard was changed to gold anodized aluminum guard.I bought it that way(used) about a month ago.

Nice! Even got the silica and plastic bags too! Do you thinks it'd be worth getting a stock(ish) white pickguard? It might be worth the effort if its raises resale value a bit.

Yeah,I love the Jam.I saw them at C.B.G.B.'s Theater in the spring of 1978(i think that is when it was.The Paul,Bruce and Rick had matching tan 3 button suits and Paul and bruce had matching "blond" Rickenbackers.I didn't know the color was call Mapleglo back them. I thought Pauls 330 was so cool because I never saw one like it before.I thought they were all black.

The Jam as a group never got the respect that they deserved, although Paul Weller did get a lot of respect with his solo projects and such... Still, I prefer The Jam to any of his post-The Jam output...
