Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I really love the site and these forums - I refer to them a lot when tinkering on my mustang, but I have one question I couldn't find an answer to when searching the board.
I have a 1964 Mustang with the original diagonal-mount "F stamp" tuning pegs, and they are in pretty abysmal shape.
Are all tuners from this style/era the same size? I've seen Schaller and Fender sets on allparts, but I don't want to get them unless I'm positive they're high quality and will fit without drilling holes in the headstock - I would have a heart attack if it came down to that.
Anyways, advice would be greatly appreciated. Once I get this taken care of the guitar will be done (for now 😁 ) and I'll upload some before and after pics since I pretty much had to raise this mustang from the dead.
