What an ugly piece of #### this is. But I have to admit, if this wasn't so much, I would buy it. And rip that stupid TOM out, and those ridiculously ugly pick-ups.

For future users

This is an 1969 Fender Mustang in great condition with a case. Not a re-issue but the real Curt Cobain item! Looks all original although some of the body paint might have been freshened up (color looks a little brighter than on headstock). Serial number is 232538. Plate at bridge reads "Dynamic Fender Vibrato- Pat. No. 324148".

well i dont like how they look on a stang. i am one of those people that likes the vintage stangs stock.

but i have no sonic reason for not likeing it.

I agree with Mango, though I would defiantly bring it back to former glory. I can tell the body has been refinished so I wouldn't feel bad scraping it all off. Antiquite Mustang pick-ups and new tops for the knobs and that TOM looks like #### on that guitar, so replace that too. It probably has no vintage value, but it would make a cool project, and end up with a fine looking Mustang.

If I was to buy it, it would definitely be a resoration project.

It seems odd that someone would favout a tele neck pickup over the Mustang one - even I don't agree with it, and I will defend tele's to my dying day.

The knobs I have no problem with. What are they from? They look very familiar...

Also, the comp stripe looks hideous, that fugly grey/green has gotta go.

It's a shame when great guitars get butchered by people with more ideas than sense.

But, maybe sonically it is just fine...

Yup, that's EXACTLY where I know them from.

I sold the ds-1 a couple of weeks ago, that's why it didn't register right away

If the knobs are common, I might grab some for my 51. The tele knobs don't look quite right. I had jag knobs on there, but they were the wrong size thread and wore out ☹

Yeah robb they came in a pack of four. They are called something like "general project knobs" they will probably fit most pot shafts and have a set screw

Cool I will go for it. We don't have Radio Shack here, but I'm sure any electronics store will get the job done...

No, I'm pretty sure the aren't making comp stangs anymore. The RI's seem to be sans comp stripe.
