Really any amp you want? So you guys have every single amp ever produced in your studio, or are you really claiming that every amp tone ever produced by every amplifier is available from your Cube? Really now.
It's not amp snobbery to use what equipment you personally think sounds best. Nor to use equipment that has been the standard since the advent of the electric guitar. And though you personally feel your amp is the competitor for most high-end tube amps (which I disagree with), you're still in the far minority among professional guitar players who still prefer real tube amps to digital tube amp modeling.
Name one well-known guitar player who you think exemplifies good tone and tell me whether they're using a tube amp or a Cube.
Further the reason I would hate to record in a studio like the one you've described is because I would consider snobbery calling someone else's choice of equipment a "joke" because they're using what they think sounds best as opposed to what you and your buddies think sounds best.
You can like the Cube, that's great, no one is putting that down, but snobbery (to me at least) is putting down any other amp because it's not a Cube, which is what you're doing.
And for the record you're telling me if Stevie Ray Vaughan or Jimi Hendrix walked into your studio and preferred their rig to your Cube you'd honestly think their rig is a "joke" in comparison?
I like recording in studios where engineers realize that if I'm a serious guitar player I've done a lot of my own research into achieving the guitar sound I personally prefer, and are dedicated to helping me record that individual sound as accurately as possible--not telling me I'm wasting my time and money because I don't use their tube-modelling Cube amp instead of my $2000 real-tube amp.
