Sound about right?

Couple problems with my Jag and don't know how to fix any of it! ( Nut, Wiring, Switches, New pickups )

Called Sam Ash and got a quote for about a 100 bucks for a Bone nut, re-wiring, fixing the broken strangle switch, pickup installation, regular adjustments. Does that sound about right or too expensive?

Usually, when I try to fix something, it ends up breaking :[

On a side note, which pickups would you recommend for some Shoegaze/Psychedelic/Drone ? IE= A Place To Bury Strangers.

Heard Antiquity 2's are good but never heard the sound of it before.

I play shoegaze and dreampop (amongst other things), I use vintage series Seymour duncans, I really find an amazing to e when combined with the usual shoegaze effects - delay and reverb.

how comes you got so many problems with it? is it second hand? surely its not new and has that many problems already?

sounds pretty high to me. pup installation is the kind of thing that every guitarist should know how to do. also, the wiring problem won't cost them more than 3 dollars to fix, time + possible switch included. nut installation is equally trivial. your money though...

Yeap just got it recently without really checking it out, everything was fine except the strangle switch and the guy who owned it before had like 9's on it and I just put some 11's on then the low e section of the nut just popped off. Is there anyway I can do this all at home ? Any advice, etc etc.
