Just a quick update. It's been slow going, but I haven't had a lot of time to work on it.
Here it is with the bottom route filled in, sanded down just slightly proud of the surface. I managed to get a pretty tight fit, only having to fill in the crack on the right side, which I think is good. I've discovered that, besides a router, having a sanding drum mounted on a drill press is a lifesaver.
