I recently bought a vintage jaguar neck, body and tailpiece off ebay. I also have a mustang bridge, two audio taper 1m pots and some pickups. So, basically I want my jaguar to be stripped down to just the lead circuit with just a three way switch, tone and volume. I was thinking about following a tele wiring diagram, which brings me to my question.
If I wire my jag like a tele using 1m pots and a .01 capacitor, then will my jag still have the tonal integrity of a vintage jag in the lead circuit? Or will it somehow sound different not having the two circuits and a million switches?
I know that a jag wiring diagram calls for a resister on the tone pot and a tele diagram does not. Does that resister make a difference?
