No, the reissues are virtually the same.
I'm selling my jagstang which I've had for nearly a year. They're good guitars and with a complete rewire and a properly set up bridge, they can be turned into much better guitars. When changing pickups, don't just go for the seymour duncans/dimarzios, because they're really expensive. guitarfetish.com sell some nice pickups and all the electronics to rewire the thing. Another thing you could do is put aluminium or copper foil in the pickup cavities to stop buzz and hum and make sure the thing is grounded properly 😉 One more thing, They take GIBSON spaced pickups so if you do end up getting fender spaced pickups (trembuckers/ F-spaced) then the pole alighnment will be minutely better, but you'll need to file the pickguard. Also, consider getting rail pickups if you are concerned about pole alignment
