If you get a bullet strat, go for the COB serial Numbered ones, they have the best necks.

Ex. COB 1111111111

That would be similar to what the serial number would look like. Although that dates out as a 2011 squier.

yeah so dont buy anything post 2010, theyre poor quality instruments

And I'd say Bullet strats seem fine enough if you're into that sort of thing. But right now I'm biased towards the tele, as I want one 🙄

I agree. That is always cool. I've always wondered if I should do that, but I'm waiting till I'm getting an olp bass (dont wanna stick em on my fender bass or jag)

I'd shell out a bit extra and get a Tele, but that's just me.

However a pink strat for $69 (I don't have a 'pounds' symbol) seems pretty good, especially as a platform for modding.

My latest thought (somewhat related to this thread) is to get a Squier Mini and mod the heck out of it, turning it into a Duo or even a Mustang-type-thing. Mini's seem to go on ebay VERY cheap.

squier's are good for modding (or so Ive heard), but just make sure it plays well. Sound isn't important, you can switch the pickups, but squiers can go both ways, they can be horrible or really good. I've played on a squier affinity strat that was more comfortable to play than an american fender.

if a new neck is needed then it wont be too bad from ebay, plus i got plenty knocking about here so I can always replace it myself. It will be something to work on long term...I guess the more needs doing the better!... well, to some degree anyhow! 😉
