Yeah I know that one, I believe it's called the "big block" '66 jaguar. They also have one in sunburst, and it's a Japanese Fender. That's about all I know about it, other than the fact that when I saw it, I actually thought I was getting that Jaguar, but ultimately went with a HH one so I wouldn't have to route. Soundslive.co.uk is where I saw em, they were supposed to be "limited", but that was like 4 or 5 months ago, and they're still in stock.

I'm thinking about picking one of these up. The original plan was to get one of the American-made '62 reissues, but then I saw this nice looking instruments.

I'm wondering about the build quality. As a trade-in, I'm giving up a MIJ Jaguar that I purchased a few years ago. It's a fine guitar, but I'd like something that feels a bit "tighter". There's some wonkiness to the guitar that bugs me. Some of the newer HH Classic Player guitars actually feel tighter than my current Jag, so I'm assuming that the 66 will be of a similar quality.

So to distill this ramble: If anyone has any hands-on experience with the 66 limited edition reissue I'd love to hear about it. Especially if you've played the American 62 reissues.

Guys, this is a Jap reissue. The price is too much, other than a few cosmetic extra's this is essentially a CIJ Jaguar.

For that kind of money you would be better off looking at a second hand AVRI model.

With the amount of mods required on a CIJ to bring it up to AVRI standards you would be better off buying used AVRI because about the only good thing about CIJ jaguars/jazzmaster is the neck,body and tuners. All the hardware and electronics and pickguard is very unimpressive compared to AVRI.

i played one in hollywood in early june.

just like fran said. its a jap with a bound neck, for the price, look into the avri.

or heck, i have seen vintage BB necks go for around 300, get a jap, a vintage neck and you are still paying less than the new option.

something i noticed was they tinted the binding the same as the neck so on the sides it blends in and you can't see it and the top is really really white.

I recently bought a Big Block MIJ Jazzmaster and it stays in tune and plays great. The weak link are the pups. I was going to buy an American but I got this scratch and dent for $650. Couldn't pass it up.
