Ok while I am not new to playing, I certainly am to the technical aspects of guitar setup! I Can't afford to keep bringing my stang into the local shop and be charged 30 dollars for simple turns of a screw.
I just finished filing the nut to fit the heavier gage strings i put on (10 52s), now the action is too low cause the strings sort of rested on top of the nut before (never fully fit in).
I moved the saddles back and fourth but that didn't help anything, I think that is for the intonation now that I researched it a little more.
So long story short, how do I raise the action? Keep in mind I'm only getting fret contact on the 1st and 2nd frets of the E and A strings.
