mustang jap, lack of power

Hi there guys!

I #### recently bought a mustang japan from my local dealer, and it sounds clearly less than my other guitars (toronado blaCK, AND AMERICAN TELE). What I mean is that I plug the guitar to the amp (fender 1000 300W), AND FOR THE REST i USE TO PLAY ON THE 2 OR 3 LEVEL, AND FOR THE MUSTANG IS level 5 TO GET SIMILAR RESULTS, SO I ask for help: IS THAT A NORMAL THING?? or I just got the weaky mustang from the jap factory?

Jap Mustang pickups are pretty weak. so its normal.

No, they don't. Try raising them a bit closer to the strings than you normally would.

I really wish Fender would bite the bullet, stop pinching pennies and have decent pups installed in their import stuff.

from what i recall american 'stang pups werent exactly the strongest of strong pups ever made either aug.

i don't think there'd be a huge difference. people moan about the mustang all the time, the tuning problems, the pickups, etc.. (not accusing anyone), but the truth is the mustang was never intended to be a pro guitar. surely any pro could buy one and if he's a fender fan is prone to be pleased, but it was marketed as a student guitar after all. i don't think they're meant to be awesome. the squiers of their day, the only reason they're better than squiers is because fender didn't have overseas factories who could mass produce using cheaper materials. plus it was the 60's, jingly jangly beat pop.
