Although I only use mine as a boost for my VOX Cooltron Big Ben, which is a fantastic overdrive pedal.

Well, it's very limited in what it does, it's either a mildly crunchy boost or very loud, kind of scratchy distortion. But I think for the money you can get it for, it does those things very well.

I am 100% anti-overdrive! I've never liked the sound of it, I like my fuzz and distortions gain on full. 😁

twin tube blue, w/price in mind, a dano cool cat OD (copies of MI Audio crunch box, Fulltone OCD, Cochrane Timmy). my boost 'n' buff is good too, but it doesn't give much flat boost. at least not enough to go from clean to dirty. of course, i haven't played as many OD's as some of the other guys here probably have... i'd also recommend the bb preamp, although i don't personally own one. i also hate tubescreamers. allot.

Hey foxy you won't be disappointed in the blues pro, very warm and loud little pedal, let ms know how you like it.

nah, it's the electronics. most OD's are actually TS's. However, something like an ltd/blues pro/bb preamp is only a TS electronically, not really tonally, since they are completely revoiced.

I have limited experience, but I will weigh in anyway.

The OD on my Marshall mg-10 sounded ok (all things considered)

The OD on my current amp, a Drive CD200r is really weak and sounds awful.

My fave is my little Livingstone Heave Metal pedal which my aunt bought for me because I hinted that I wanted a reverb pedal (she's 78 years old, so they are all the same to her). Really sweet attack on it, it makes me just wanna shred, nice sound, and when I take the gain all the way down and the tone all the way up (or maybe the other way around, I can never remember which) it makes a sound like I am playing out of a crummy AM radio.

All for $30 from a supermarket.

I want to get the chorus pedal they have if I could ever find one...
