Another Ebay caveat emptor:
There's a 1964 Olympic White Fender Mustang with an "Alder" body being offered on Ebay. The guy told me he knows it's Alder because, get this, "it's a 'little Strat' and all the Strats were Alder in the '60s."
Not a big deal. If it's truly a '64 Mustang, I don't care much if it's Poplar, Mohagony...or mythic Alder. It just bugged me the way this guy dismissed the suggestion that he double check to see if maybe there were no Alder Mustangs...he thinks Poplar is inferior so his guitar must be Alder.
We gotta be educated consumers if we're gonna shop on the internet and I feel sorry for those who get taken by jerks like this guy.
