TOM f-spaced needed?

Hello, I'm new and french guy, it's hard to live with that.. so please be nice with me 😁

I've few question 'cause i want modding my CIJ jag..

I would put a tune o matic bridge and change single pickup for double when I look for new pick up i see frequently F-spaced or standard spaced.. Wich one goes on my jag??

For the tune o matic the 2 string space exist ? or just one (standard I think..)

get a regular TOM, and have it filed F-spaced. when your TOM comes, the saddles should need filing, either do this yourself by lining the strings up w/the pickups, or have a tech who isn't retarded do it, and you'll be fine. may want a roller tom or a graphite saddled-tom for vibrato.

you could groove the stock bridge a bit deeper to help with string jumps/ use a mustang bridge with a buzz stop and that will ensure no string jumps

overwise if you really want a tune o matic get an ungrooved bridge from stumac and groove it yourself, its not that hard, just use comnon sense.

Get a regular Gotoh tunOmatic and a it will line up fine with either the stock pickups or a regular spaced humbucker. There's really not much difference on jags.

Either way, the strings will always be over the pole pieces.

Since you want a humbucker in it, get a standard humbucker, not an F spaced or a trembucker.

BTW, you will have to deepen the grooves in the tuneOmatic, there's no getting around this.

someone here have a regular TOM on his jag ?? I read few topics about the jag and the TOM and many times the guys talk about action problem and buzz.. If i read correctly I'll have to take it to the luthier or I can try with a business card or two depending,(with cut out holes for the neck screws in the card) ,take of the neck and put the cards between the neck and neck pocket, screw neck on and check action. Then I can adjust the action with the bridge. No tech needed.

Is it good?

Another little question someone knows how strings are spaced for each string and between "E" strings in millimeters? I search for this informations from many long time thanks you

That's basically it!

The TuneOmatic has lines on each saddle, little grooves to show you where center is. All you do is deepen them wiht a file to get as close to 7.25 as you can, the same as the neck radius.

deleting useless threads, this was the case a few years ago, anything and everything was deleted.

a buzz stop is a seperate peice that screws onto the trem unit. it requires NO modification at all, and increases the break angle over the bridge, thus increasing the string tension and stopping the string jump issue.

every now and again(depending on playing style) its good to have a mustang bridge and a buzz stop.

and in reality, you may want to try a mustang bridge first.

the cost would be the same and you won't have to take it to a tech. If you find you are having string jumping problems you may want to invest in a buzz stop but you should be alright.

this buzzstop i know (mounted on the Trem) but according reading it has the side effect of damping also the tone a bit.

I was mistaken that it is a buzzstop on the TOM

As i am waiting on my new CIJ Jaguar HH(JGS) which has no tremolo I just want to collect informations on the infamous bridge issue.

But basically when it arrives i will first play,look how it works,and then eventually modify.There are no pictures of the real in use brige arround(is called T.O.M special) and the best guess on bad pictures it may have Mustang rollers
