whats wrong with your current rig?
nothing's wrong with it, it's an amazing rig, but doesn't sound great clean, or at least, sounds great clean on my ampeg j12, which is very quiet... so i can get better dynamics w/my bassman, but the clean tone i hear in my head has a huge amount of sparkle hard to acheive on tube amps. in addition to this, i plan on integrating a keyboard into my existing guitar rig, and this would give me complete flexibility. Then, when i get around to recording, i could record entirely in the real world, with real-time EQ and distortion adjustments through midi, yet still have the flexibility of digital recording, with quantizing, midi delays, etc, etc. soooo psyched. the best part is that i can buy parts independently and integrate them into my current rig, and probably pay for the solid state rig by selling my ampeg. go team!
