I saw one for the first time up close today, I was surprised, still not taken, but it grew on me as I looked at it for ages, haha, although it was the black one without matching h/s, so otherwise I just wouldn't have been able to get past the matching h/s to like it. Very nice thin neck though.

The electronics aren't active. There's a black one at the guitar center near me. It's pretty, but the sound is nothing special. Short scale is nice though.

i like them but can't justify buying one, i have a short scale bass already and am gonna buy one of four '78 musicmaster basses from the local shop that are all in the $395-$495 price range (something particularly undesirable about that year?)

i'm assuming this bass is some amount more than that huh. i like the electronics options, i've never been crazy about a million bass controls though, just give me a tone knob to set to zero and a volume set to 10 and i'm good.

actually guys, i don't think this jag bass is short scale. it's 34", like a jazz bass. mustang basses are 30". it also has the same nut width as the jazz bass. the girth of the neck is a thinner C shape though

Yeah, I didn't think they were short scale either, that seemed fairly clear just from looking at it, just the neck is very thin.

It definatly felt like it was short scale, but it could have been due to how thin the neck is, I guess.
