My first ever "mods" were all done to this beast.....1985 Kramer Focus 3000
1997
- Replaced the original locking nut as the screws stripped
- Chrome pickup cover put on original bridge humbucker - broke the coil
- Cut up pickguard EVH style, put 2 slide switches in it, wired up single volume with pickup on/off
1998
- Guitar was pulled out of my closet, rebuilt using about $80 worth of Stew-Mac parts
-- New B/W/B pickguard built by me using a Jigsaw
-- Custom Wound Harmony H-804 pickup using wire from a radio transformer
-- New switching, 90% from Radio Shack, AllParts pots from Guitar Shoppe
-- 3-Way switch from hardware store for Strangle
-- Push-Button momentary off button (for Tom Morello type noises)
-- All caps were scavenged out of old radios and other electronics
1999
- Floyd Rose caved in so I bolted a Kahler on with Briggs & Stratton cylinder head bolts
- EMG Select SEHG put in bridge, EMG Select SES put in neck
- Radio Shack knobs installed (the Rickenbacker style knobs)
2001
- Fairy sticker added
- Momentary button removed
- Complete Rewire to fix some minor grounding and intermittent sound issues
2005
- Formally Retired, my Jaguar is more reliable, can make the same sounds, and sound better when doing it.
2006
- Took the Kahler out and put a Floyd Rose back on it
