Yes, don't cut corners/costs on pickups for a jazzmaster, you will either regret it or never know what you're missing.
My first choice/recommendation is seymour duncan antiquity I or II's, check out the sound samples on SD's site for comparisons.
They sound exactly like a 40 year old pickup, as do the jaguar ones which I have a set of.
Second choice is Fender AVRI jazzmaster pickups. They sound pretty much like a vintage jazzmaster pickup sounded when they were new, they are pretty accurate recreations of the originals.
All these pickups are around 8.5k.
if you want hotter go the SD SJM2's, they are aroun 14k.
But I would get the antiquity's, they are a little more expensive but they are real nice pickups.
BTW, you lose the natural (and desirable) jazzmaster/jaguar jangle sound when using a buzzstop and buzztops are hideous disgusting creations to us jazzmaster/jaguar fanatics. 😁 You can stop the strings popping out by increasing the gauge too, try 12-56, this should help a lot, most players of these guitars use at leas 11gauge but 12-56 is better IME. If you still have problems you can adjust the neck profile and bridge height to give it a sharper break angle over the bridge, increasing tension.
My point is, the buzzstop is ugly as phuk, ruins thr sound of thre guitar and is 100% unneeded!
