Red tortoise pickguard for US Vintage Jaguar?

Hi!

I will soon recieve a US Vintage Jaguar. The black one with "brown" tortoise pickguard.

I have a black japan jaguar with matching headstock that I will soon sell.

It has the red bowling ball tortoise pickguard from allparts and looks amazing!

As I understand this pickguard will not fit the US vintage jag.

Is this only because of the extra holes for the mute or does it have other fitting issues?

Could a guitar tech modify something so it could fit nicely to a US Vintage Jag?!

Do you mean an actual vintage American jaguar or just a ReIssue American Jaguar????

If you are wanting to replace vintage tort with allparts tort you're mad as a hatter!

Vintage tort is the best looking IMO, its nothing like the AVRI brown tort. its red like allparts tort but waaaaay nicer.

You could get the jap PG on the vintage guitar but you wont get a shrunken vintage PG on a CIJ with out some filing and sanding of the PG and drilling new holes in the body.

The Japanese guard will fit but you will need to drill one or two new pickguard screw holes in the US guitar. You may also need to file/sand a bit here and there but the general feeling is,yes they fit.

They arent a 100% perfect fit but you can get them on ok. Youl mainly have to file around where the gaurd meats the chrome if anywhere. I know this is true for the revers, US chrome on CIJ jaguars.

earth, are you talking about the mij series or the cij series? the main reason i ask is becuz for the longest time i thought they were identical, until i owned one of each and compared the guards.

I know one screw hole on AVRI Jag PG's doesnt line up with the allparts PG made for CIJ's. The allparts PG lines up perfectly with the tort PG that came on my CIJ so I suppose I mean CIJ and AVRI.

Its the screw hole to the top right of the hex control plate,just near the neck pup. On the AV its closer to the pup,on CIJ its closer to the control plate.
