Jaguar HH to single coil question.

Ok. So I bought a Jaguar HH and wasn't happy with the pickups (like most others). I bought a pickguard on Ebay that had single coil slots as opposed to humbuckers because I planned to put Fender Lace Sensors in them.

The pickguard fits, however the Lace Sensors are not big enough and just fall through. The pickguard doesn't have pickup mounting screws.

My question is how people can mount Strat pickups or even Jaguar pickups on this pickguard if there is no mounting screws?

The hole in jaguar pickguards is way bigger than that in strat pickguards. not because the pickups are bigger, they are actually smaller(the bottom is smaller than strats), its because the pickup covers are bigger.

If you want lace sensors in a jaguar you need to get a custom PG cut.

Regular SS Jaguars have the pickups mounted on the body, with the pickguard fitting around the covers, rather than the pickups being mounted on the pickguard itself.

I had a Lace Sensor in my Jag a while back, and mounted it to the body. It looked a bit messy, but it worked.

I would just mount them (sensors) in the HH PG and tape up the remainder of the holes, in fact I DID do this to one of my guitars. Its no big deal.
