I always had a theory that that is what Squier should be doing: handling the student models and experimental designs instead of strat and tele variations (of which Fender themself already has more than enough). Things like the 51, the Jagmaster, and even bringing back bugdet versions of discontinued models - I'm staring in the eyes of the Cyclone - are EXACTLY what Squier should be doing.
