strat project/maybe mustang instead?

what sorta tone are the blues? i am after something just a tiny bit hotter than the mustang neck PU.

its hard to describe as i dont own many guitars, if i have the silver on with my amp set just below breakup and then switch to blue itll give me teh distortions

its both bright and ballsy, my perfect bridge pickup for the overdriven bluesy tone i usually use

the problem is not many people use it in the bridge so there's no demos, ill quickly do one now 😀

there ya go, its terrible playing, the guitars out of tune and it clips in places but oh well, im tired and just tuned up from baritone for you

no problem, the only problem i can see is that it might overpower your neck pup, but adjusting the heights should help that

😆 i just realised that my strat has 14.4k in the neck, 7.1k in the middle and 12.8k in the bridge, i dont think output is a genuine problem

so they are about 7k? and mustangs are about 4k? maybe i wont #### with it... i love it to much to have it farked.

no the blue is 12.7k lol, but if i can get 14.4k and 7.1k sounding the same volume then i dont see why you couldnt

the gold sensors are 5.8k which is what alot of people use

so its time for pickups, and i'm thinking gfs after all the things you guys have said about them. my question is which do i go for? strat pickups of course, but the surf/blues? the premium alnico ]? the overwound alnico? or the 60's repro alnico? im up for any suggestions not just those options. but there are so many i just dont know

I ended up getting the loaded pickguard that someone recommended to me (either yourself or Chris, I can't remember). Still waiting for it in the mail.

As for your project, it all depends on the sounds you want, of course. Luckily GFS seem to have a wide spectrum covered. Have you tried peeking at the reviews on Harmny-Central for guidance?
