I found a good fix for the pot: Pull it out slightly and wedge a pick underneath it. Good if you ever get stuck with a dodgy pot 😉
So now I have EVEN MORE gain on it! It hasn't really got a 'metal' sound, more of a hard-rock sound. I'm aware that you get more gain out of it by cranking it, but I can't really do that round here.
As for the Harley Benton cab, well its a sealed back cab with 2 V30s and its pretty well built. My only complaint is the tolex, which is just.....crap. It looks nice but it wears really easily.
