(how does the emg sound with the hotrail? i've seen guitars like them before but never got to hear one thru a amp.)
I used the SuperSonic about a year ago when I could barely play at all, and didn't really know what "my sound" is.
But the amp sounded really good, even though I didn't know how to tweak to suit me. Some Fender amps seem to be bassier, some more trebly, this one was just somewhere in between. Just a really good balance. But not as much personality as some other Fenders.
With the extra parts I bought +shipping, then having the work done and a basic setup, the total cost was about AUD$220. That's about USD$200 right now.
As for the EMG and Hotrails, I'm not sure if you mean my guitar, because mine has neither of those on it. The middle pickup is a neck pickup from a Squier 51 (which is the same pickup used in MIM strats, 2 ceramic magnets instead of one), and the bridge pickup is a PAF copy from a Tele Deluxe. I'm very happy with the single in the middle, but the bridge pickup seems to have good and bad days. But I do find it better than the stock pickup. More grunt and balance.
