When i have the moneyz, i want to buy/build teh KurTzZz jag.

Anyone have advice:

- If i should build one.

- Pimp a existing jag.

- Maybe order one from: ''Ikebe'' (if that's even posible)

I say probably pimp an existing jag... Simplest option i would say, and it would be a fun project (maybe less fun than building from scratch, but far easier)

If I wanted a Cobain Jaguar for collecting purposes, cause lets face it, I would never play it live.LOL

I would just save and get a vintage one with dots and binding then route it out and install the humbuckers, and then add the extra pot/knobs and change the hex plate.

That's as close as you'll get and as authentic as you'l get IMO.

The CIJ ones are wrong, they're close but still wrong. For a start his TOM wasnt angled like that, it was angled slightly but it was drilled straight. It was angled with tape adjustments.

The pickguard is the wrong color too.

If you are good at working on guitars i'd say pimp a CIJ.

Make it your own, aim towards what Kurtz had but put your own spin on it, a respectable tribute, with a new twist, I would say.

the MIM jag is pretty darn close to the kurtz so it would be easy to pimp out(minus the bound neck)

really it would just be a new control plate, a modded lead plate and... some dried up herion marks on the neck(bad joke)

I reckon if they had the CP jaguars when Kurt was around he would of used them, then smashed them up at the end of shows. Then again, he may have just used them because he liked them and not smashed them.... Either way, I could have seen him using them.

re-fins are rather expensive, you are basically looking at 250+

unless you know a good friend, or auto shop, most luthiers don't do re-fins becuz it takes up so much time and its just paint.

might as well do it your self.

look at it this way, if you mess up, you can sand it off and do it again.

don't buy the signature from japan, the only thing nice is the sunburst but the binding is as ugly as sh*t IMHO.

The only thing wrong with the binding IMO is tha fact that is has a clear coat over it, you can easily sand this off so its nice and white like Kurts would have been before he poored beer and methadone all over it!

Number one but with two aged pickups FTW. The other two are disgusting IMO.

Gold looks too gaudy for me.

The second one looks like the Lakers.
