rettahs Can a Gotoh stop tailpiece be installed on a Mustang off the shelf, or would I need to do some drilling?
Fran Its a pointless modification. You can tighten the 'cigar tube' fully and remove the tremolo arm, makes it more or less hard tail, thats what i did.
robertoriginal it can be done, drilling is needed. so yeah, you can do it.BUT, do what fran just told you, or just set up the trem properly, even if you never use it, it won't go out of tune so.....
OceanTurquoiseMetallic I put washers under the "cigar" just high enough for strings to pass through, then tighten it down with an allen wrench tighter than a frogs ass (my guitar tech's words) 😁 Basically becomes a stop-bar.My only other bridge "mod" is to wrap electric tape around the bridge posts till it just fits
