Tune-o-matic or Mustang bridge?

Hi, sorry to ask the time old Jazzmaster bridge question, but I've recently purchased a CIJ Jazzmaster 62 RI and I've been reading up on this forum, and I'm just wondering about the best/easiest bridge replacement? my jazmaster has a tun-o-matic. . and wld strongly recommend it. . but i will leave it up to the people who have experiance with both to advise you.

I have had the Mustang bridge & TOM on my Jagstang. I prefer the TOM. Buy both of em, try em out see which one you like, they aren't expensive.

main problem with a tom is that the bridge is cut for a 12 inch radius as opposed to the stock 7.25 radii.

Nothing a bit of filing can't fix though.

If you're super rich and you piss molten gold, you might want to have a look at the mastery bridge. (google it)

but if you can't seem to setup the stock bridge then i doubt you would have the "know how" to correctly file a tom bridge.

I ended up buying that Gotoh TOM, gilmourish, how much trouble did you have fitting it?

His came with it stock. Its a Classic player jazzy 😉

Ahh right, well can anyone help me here on fitting this TOM? Do I need to use tape on the thimbles to get it to fit snugly? or is there anything else I need to do?

The TOM I have is a copy of the import versions. You'll need to wrap tape around it to get a good fit. And If you're not hugely fussy about action, you could get a roller bridge.
