I looked the the chorus pedal. The 'wide' demo sounded really nice, but the 'deep' demo sounded like crap.

No way I would buy a pedal without trying it anyway...

Robb, I think I remember you were looking for a Chorus, I would recommend (if you can find one to try) a Danelectro Fab Chorus... The way I have mine set, it sounds exactly like the start of Teenage Riot or Candle, and because they're plastic (although it's very thick plastic and won't break unless you stamp on it really hard), they are really cheap.

There is a music store here in Melbourne that I know stack Dano pedals. I'm only passively looking. Using Teenage Riot as an example is a good hook for me, because it's definitely a subtle sound that I will be aiming for.

I was actually looking for a reverb pedal a while ago, and people recommended the Dano Fab Echo. It seems they do some good stuff on the cheap. That fits in well for me 😁

I might try one this weekend if I find the time. The Chorus, that is.

Agreed about the Fab Echo, from what I've heard it just does slapback Rockabilly echo instead of being a proper Delay or Reverb...

Oh and for that Teenage Riot-esque tone, set speed as slow as it will go and depth and mix up. I prefer a chiming, atmospheric Chorus to a warbling one.

Wow those offset guitars look awesome. I didn't even know they had them. >_> I think the next guitar I get will be one of those. Probably the orange as well. Love the look of that one.

I don't want one anymore, anyways. My amp has reverb which does just fine.

Unfortunately, the store that used to stock Dano pedals now stock Legacy bedals in their place. Does anyone know anything about these? They just look like Boss pedals, but are less than half the price.

That's EXACTLY the tone I would be going for as well.

Truth be told, before you mentioned the Chorus on Teenage Riot, I didn't even know there was Chorus being used. This fits in very well with what I am after: just enhancing the clean tone without calling any attention to the effect. 😀

For a great non-warbly chorus, check out the Boss CE-3. I have one (MIJ, green label), and you don't get a horrible amount of modulation with both knobs all the way up. Does kind of a mild Leslie, but nothing really weird.

I am going to be modding it soon to exchange the range and maybe cut back some noise. It's not really necessary, because the pedal sounds great as-is, but it's something I'd like to do...

Also, it has a stereo-out, so if you set it to mode II (Output B = Dry, Output A = Wet) and dime both knobs it becomes a vibrato pedal!

ooh shiz you're the reason I got that Korg box. that thing has awesome looping functions.

guitargeek is always pretty quite, I think I'm one of the more frequent ppl on there. good place though.

That place was hectic 5 years ago, i lost interest in FX and stopped visiting frequently. Still a cool place though.

Btw, i later got a Korg AX1000g and although the sample function is better it does'nt glitch as well as the model we talked about on Youtube.

I got an Outcaster.

It's a Basswood Surfcaster with a wrap around bridge and the switch is near the knobs. Has a lipstick in the neck, loud HB in the bridge. really cool sounds. They only made them for 2 years, then Fender took over.

I think the pickups are Kent Armstrongs, just like my Talmans

I don't use the Korg much, I run it on rechargable batteries. I might dig it out, haven't played with loops in awhile. I like the filter controled by the expression pedal, awesome idea. it's got some good sounds for a multi fx, the layout sucks.

I saw one just like mine (purple) modded with a EMG in the bridge on ebay maybe 6 months ago.

they were only made for 2 years, so little hard to find. Most people just sell them as Surfcasters.

craigslist is your best bet.

I like my Talmans better, but this has it's charm too
